Directions from Wellington / Hawkes Bay are as follows:

Once you are in Taupo follow SH1 north towards Rotorua / Auckland through the Taupo township and carry on until you are almost on the northern side of Taupo. You will then cross the Control Gates Bridge over the Waikato river at which point you will need to take the first left hand turn into Norman Smith St (watch out for the Acacia Bay signs) follow this road until you reach the T section and turn left onto Acacia Bay Road (once again keep an eye out for the signs) follow this road for about 4-5 minutes. Once you arrive into Acacia Bay you will see a sign ‘Welcome to Acacia Bay’ and a set of shops on the left hand side. From this point take the second road on the right, which is Mapara Road. We are the third driveway on the left up Mapara Road. We have a wood and stone fence with four large trees right on the road side. 

Directions from Auckland / Rotorua are as follows:

The creation of Lake Taupo Lodge began 30 years ago when Gary and Shirley purchased 10 acres of wild bush in Acacia Bay overlooking Lake Taupo.

Lake Taupo lodge offers 5 Star Luxury accommodation. The focus is on gracious living and the six guest suites are luxurious examples of world class accommodation.

An advanced deposit of 50% of the total cost of your stay is required to confirm your reservation; this will be taken from the supplied credit card within 14 days of making your booking.

All reservation requests are subject to confirmation after payment is received. 

Tariff includes the New Zealand Goods and Services GST of 15%.

Extra policies: 

• The credit card details you give to Lake Taupo Lodge for the deposit and guarantee of your accommodation may be used for charges incurred due to cancellation and/or charges not paid for at checkout. 
• If you have any change to your plans please inform us in writing, as early as possible. The cancellation policy is detailed above and will be applied. 
• No refunds are transferred to any credit card other than the original credit card provided for the guarantee or payment. 
• When booking third party activities or excursions please be aware that they may have different terms, conditions and cancellation policies to Lake Taupo Lodge.

Within 30 days of arrival date – 50% of all room nights booked will be charged 
Within 7 days of arrival date – 100% of all room nights booked will be charged

Except the period, 12th of December to the 12th of January when the following penalty applies:

Within 90 days of arrival date – 25% of all rooms booked will be charged 
Within 60 days of arrival date – 50% of all rooms booked will be charged 
Within 30 days of arrival date – 100% of all rooms booked will be charged

When booking third party add-ons please be aware that for cancellations within 7 days of arrival these will be charged fully on credit card.

All promotional offers are fully chargeable at time of booking and non refundable.

Child Policy: 

• We are unable to accommodate children under 10 years old.
• Children aged 10 – 17 years (inclusive) - $150.00 per child per night

These rates only apply if the children are in the same suite as their parents. If they require a second room, it would be at the full executive suite rate.

Christmas/New Years Eve policy:

On the night of 25th December and New Year's Eve there is a surcharge of NZ$150.00 + tax per person to cover pre-dinner champagne, entertainment and penal rates.

We also have a two night minimum stay for the period of the 20th of December through to the 31st March annually. 

Please note our Cancellation Policy:

50% charged if cancellation is within 30 days of arrival.

100% charged if cancellation is within 7 days of arrival.

100% charge will occur if guests are a "No-Show".

However, if we are able to fill the room/s for any of the nights previously booked, we will only debit the guest for the balance of accommodation we were unable to fill. If all nights previously booked are re-let, no charges will be made.

Travel Insurance suggestions:

We strongly recommend that you take adequate travel insurance – with a full comprehensive insurance policy covering medical, lost or stolen personal effects, baggage, air flight and hotel cancellation fees.
